The product
A bench for the foot of the bed, the hallway or alongside a table, built on 40 cm high IKEA METOD cabinets. Sturdy enough to sit on, with storage underneath. From 2 to 5 doors of 60 cm, so from 123 to 303 cm wide. LACCA lacquered fronts, with rounded corners and an oval handle carved into the front, dress the structure, which rests on a recessed aluminium base: fronts, cover panels and top are supplied at the right size, with no cutting at all.
What you buy here: the Jacamar kit, fronts and base included. The IKEA structure (cabinets, shelves, hinges) is bought separately from IKEA. You will find the exact list below, with links and prices.
Complete piece: about €2151 (Jacamar kit €1931 + IKEA €220).
In the 5-door version, the top and the base are supplied in two equal pieces, joined in the middle: beyond 243 cm, a single piece cannot be shipped without risk of breakage.
Our tip: black cabinets
Choose your METOD cabinets and UTRUSTA shelves in black-grey rather than white: the same references exist in the same sizes. When the doors open, a dark interior looks far more refined and recedes behind the fronts. For each item in the list above, simply select black-grey on the IKEA page.
Technical details
Fronts in lacquered 30 mm MDF, rounded corners, integrated oval handle: no push-opener or handle to add. Cover panels and top in lacquered MDF, in the colour of the fronts. Aluminium base, 6 cm high and 32 cm deep, with rounded corners, set back beneath the piece: it disappears into the shadow and the furniture seems to float above the floor. No legs, no plinth. 37 cm deep METOD wall cabinets, resting directly on the base. IKEA prices checked in October 2026, for guidance only. Base price provisional.
