The product
A bench for the foot of the bed, the hallway or alongside a table, built on 40 cm high IKEA METOD cabinets. Sturdy enough to sit on, with storage underneath. From 2 to 5 doors of 60 cm, so from 123 to 303 cm wide. Smooth real oak fronts dress the structure: doors, cover panels, top and plinth in oak, all supplied at the right size, with no cutting at all.
What you buy here: the Jacamar kit of fronts. The IKEA structure (cabinets, legs, hinges) is bought separately from IKEA. You will find the exact list below, with links and prices.
Complete piece: about €1313 (Jacamar kit €1008 + IKEA €305).
In the 5-door version, the top and the plinth are supplied in two equal pieces, joined in the middle: beyond 243 cm, a single piece cannot be shipped without risk of breakage.
Our tip: black cabinets
Choose your METOD cabinets and UTRUSTA shelves in black-grey rather than white: the same references exist in the same sizes. When the doors open, a dark interior looks far more refined and recedes behind the fronts. For each item in the list above, simply select black-grey on the IKEA page.
A solid oak plinth
Where shop-bought furniture makes do with a chipboard base, the plinth of this piece is cut from solid oak, each length in a single piece, with no finger joints. A dense, heavy wood that gives the furniture its grounding and will last for decades.
